  1. Explain what you do for Ellipses in one sentence: I am responsible for the accounting, cash management, and HR for Ellipses.
  2. I first knew I wanted to be in HR when: My undergraduate degree is in accounting theory and I worked for about 30 years for small businesses. I also have a master’s degree in finance from Golden Gate University.
  3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years: I hope people view me as a thoughtful and kind person with a good sense of humor, and I hope I have a business in which I can employ other people and grow them. I get a great deal of satisfaction working with others.
  4. My first job was: at the May Company selling women’s hosiery in West Los Angeles.
  5. My biggest accomplishment so far: Establishing my own businesses
  6. If I weren’t an account, I’d be: a psychologist
  7. Best movie I ever saw: The Women
  8. Biggest pet peeve: Lack of kindness in people
  9. Why I love my job, in three words: Rigid, yet, chaotic. I like the dichotomy that dealing with these two areas give me.
  10. I’m secretly terrified of: Snakes
  11. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I watch: QVC
  12. My favorite getaway is: I like to travel to visit my family. I don’t live close to my family so any time I can, I travel to LA.
  13. If I could go only go to one place before I die, I would go: The wailing wall in Israel
  14. If I could have dinner with anybody, alive or dead, it would be: Ann Goldberg – my mother’s mother.
  15. My favorite book is: Persuasion by Jane Austen
  16. My favorite part about living in the Bay Area is: The intelligent people I’m surrounded by.
  17. Tell us one thing about your job that most people wouldn’t know: There’s a psychology to dealing with money and people that I rely on.
  18. When I’m not working: I do a lot of reading and talking to my husband. I love being at home and talking to him. He helps me become a better person.
  19. What I most look forward to this year: Continuing to work and support my clients and grow my business. I am definitely on a career path right now to grow my business and continue to do good work for my clients.

  21. My advice to future accountants: Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid to step where it’s unknown, because that’s how you will grow.
