St. Helena Celebrates Napa Valley’s Cabernet Season with “The Little Book of Big Experiences”

Charming city in the heart of Napa Valley curates 24 promotional offers for the ultimate wine country experience, donates portion of proceeds to support those affected by
Northern California wildfires

 

ST. HELENA, Calif. – October 26, 2017 – St. Helena, the premier travel destination in Napa Valley, welcomes Cabernet season in wine country with exciting new visitor experiences and promotions in the “Little Book of Big Experiences.” Beginning November 2017, the St. Helena Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the city’s top wineries, restaurants, and hotels, will offer guests a package of 24 quintessential St. Helena experiences valued at over $1,000 for only $100. Throughout November, the St. Helena Chamber of Commerce will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from its Little Book of Big Experiences sales to the Napa Valley Community Foundation in support of those affected by the Northern California wildfires.

The “Little Book of Big Experiences” includes wine country activities such as barrel tastings, wine and food pairings, guided tours, lodging specials and cozy dinners in St. Helena, a community best known for its Michelin-starred restaurants, award-winning wineries, boutiques, galleries, and luxurious spas. The “Little Book of Big Experiences” may be purchased on-site at participating venues or the St. Helena Welcome Center located at 657 Main Street in St. Helena, as well as online at its interactive website, experiencesthelena.com, which details each offer with stunning photography, video and more.

“Napa Valley has seen significant loss during these recent fires but, what we haven’t lost is our spirit. Our community is determined to work together to rebuild, rebound and reopen” said Marcus Marquez, chairman of the board of directors, St. Helena Chamber of Commerce. “The ‘Little Book of Big Experiences’ is one way to support St. Helena’s wineries, hotels and restaurants, and experience world-class hospitality in the heart of beautiful, incomparable Napa Valley.”

Available through March 2018, the “Little Book of Big Experiences” includes the following offerings, all for $100:

Wineries

  • Ballentine Vineyards  Sunday through Saturday, Reserve Tasting of estate grown, limited production wines, followed by a sample of their next vintage straight from the barrel.*
  • Beringer  Choose three wines from a selection of award-winning Reserve, Single Vineyard, and small case production wines to be enjoyed with a deluxe cheese plate.
  • Brasswood – In a chic, private den, “Little Book” holders taste the small production collection of wines, perfectly paired with artisan cheeses.
  • Burgess Cellars – Enjoy wines in the active cellar, where guests will taste a flagship Cabernet and single vineyard bottles of rare Napa varieties. A visit to Burgess provides panoramic vista views and mountainside wine tasting.
  • Clif Family Winery – Enjoy a tasting of Clif Family wines paired with bruschetta from their acclaimed Bruschetteria Food Truck. On Mondays and food truck closure dates, enjoy a delicious plate of artisan cheeses and jams from Clif Family Wines.
  • Freemark Abbey – Sunday through Thursday, guests taste current release Cabernet Sauvignons from the Rutherford Bench and throughout Napa Valley, topped off with a sample from the Wine Library. Friday through Saturday, guests enjoy limited release wines while learning about 130 years of winemaking history.
  • HALL St. Helena – “Little Book” holders enjoy a welcome splash of Pinot Noir while learning about founders Craig and Kathryn Hall and the benefits of precision farming and winemaking practices. Then, they’re escorted to the tasting room for a flight of four artisan wines.
  • Merryvale Vineyards – Enjoy a private Signature Tasting of five current release wines and artisanal cheeses.*
  • Provenance Vineyards – While taking in the stunning views surrounding the winery, guests enjoy a Reserve Tasting of limited small production Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by a brief tour of the winemaking facility and a barrel tasting of the 2014 Hewitt Cabernet Sauvignon. *
  • Salvestrin Winery – “Little Book” holders are invited to taste small production single vineyard current release wines while taking in exquisite vineyard views. Guests learn about the winery’s winemaking philosophy, vineyard practices, and conservation efforts.*
  • Trinchero Napa Valley – Sunday through Thursday, tour Mario’s Vineyard, learn about the rich history of the Trinchero family, and taste single-vineyard estate wines and a library offering. Friday through Saturday, enjoying a sensory tasting in the Legacy Lounge and an artisanal cheese plate.*
  • VGS Chateau Potelle – Enjoy four unique food and wine pairings with food bites from the Michelin-starred Chef Ken Frank of the famed La Toque Restaurant. *
  • Whitehall Lane Winery – Sunday through Thursday, enjoy a seated one-on-one private tasting in the club room with a selection of winery-only, single vineyard and library wines with a charcuterie plate. Friday through Saturday, guests are encouraged to pick their favorite varietals from the current tasting menu with four complimentary tastings.

Lodging

  • Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer – Sunday through Saturday, guests enjoy 10% off a two-night stay in the newly renovated Vineyard View Collection rooms, and receive two “Little Books of Big Experiences.” Additionally, enjoy a complimentary appetizer at Chef Charlie Palmer’s Harvest Table.
  • Inn at Salvestrin – Guests enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine in their rooms and complimentary breakfast consisting of pastries, fresh fruit, juice, and freshly roasted coffee. Additionally, guests who stay three nights get the fourth night free.
  • Los Alcobas Napa Valley – Guests enjoy 15% off their two-night stay, Sunday through Thursday.
  • Atrio – Sunday through Thursday, guests enjoy 15% off their choice of spa treatment.
  • Southbridge Napa Valley – Sunday through Thursday, guests who reserve two consecutive nights receive two “Little Books of Big Experiences” and a bottle of Jean-Charles Boisset No. 21 wine in their room. Each reservation includes a locally sourced continental breakfast. Guests also enjoy complimentary use of Health Spa Napa Valley. Those who reserve a third consecutive night receive 20% off that night. Friday through Saturday, “Little Book” holders receive Jean-Charles Boisset No. 21 in their rooms and enjoy continental breakfast and complimentary use of Health Spa Napa Valley.
  • Wine Country Inn – 15% off a guest stay Sunday through Saturday. Based on availability.
  • Wydown Hotel – Guests that book a two-night stay will receive 15% off their total stay, as well as two complimentary copies of the “Little Book of Big Experiences.”

Restaurants 

  • Acacia House – Receive waved corkage fee (limited to one bottle per visit) and one cookbook per reservation.
  • The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone – Sunday through Thursday, enjoy a tour of the historic Greystone building, and a 10% discount at the Spice Islands Marketplace.
  • Harvest Table – Tuesday through Sunday, “Little Book” holders enjoy their choice of a complimentary appetizer or dessert when they dine for lunch, brunch, or dinner.

How “Little Book of Big Experiences” Works 

  • The “Little Book” is valid November 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018.
  • The “Little Book” is good for one guest only. No shared tastings – one per book, per guest.
  • Guests must bring their Little Book to each experience. Upon arrival each visit will be documented.
  • Guests should plan ahead to visit participating properties, as most require appointments or have specific tasting hours.
  • When making lodging or dining reservations, guests should mention they are a “Little Book” holder.
  • All book holders must be at least 21 years of age. Be prepared to show identification.
