MICHELIN-STARRED OMAKASE CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY WITH EXCLUSIVE SAKE PAIRING DINNER

Celebrated sushi restaurant to host nine-course dinner complete with exclusive,
rare sake pairings poured by renowned sake expert Chris Pearce

San Francisco, Calif. – August 17, 2016 – Omakase, the Michelin-starred destination for exquisite Edomae style sushi in San Francisco’s SOMA district, will host two exclusive, nine-course sake pairing dinners in honor of their first anniversary on September 21 and 22, 2016. The dinners will be held in partnership with Chris Pearce, founder of World Sake Imports and the first non-Japanese to be designated an Expert Sake Appraiser by the Japan National Research Institute of Brewing.

Reminiscent of traditional dining establishments in Japan, Omakase has earned a reputation for being one of the highest quality and most authentic sushi restaurants in the Bay Area, as well as for its sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere. After only one year in operation, Omakase has received a Michelin Star and a “Top 100” ranking by the San Francisco Chronicle’s restaurant critic, Michael Bauer.

“Omakase is excited to celebrate an amazing first year,” said Executive Chef Jackson Yu. “We take tremendous pride in serving dishes made with the freshest, very best and singular ingredients to our customers each and every day. For the past year, my staff and I have worked hard to create a special experience that is quintessential, memorable, and thoroughly enjoyable, and we look forward to continuing that tradition.”

ABOUT OMAKASE

Best known for high-end Edomae sushi, premium sake and fine dining, Omakase offers two different fixed-price chef’s tasting menus, prepared by Executive Chef Jackson Yu and his team of highly trained chefs, that take guests on an unforgettable and sensory culinary journey through Japan. Fish served at Omakase is flown in three times a week from the famed Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, the largest fish market in the world, to ensure quality and freshness. To enhance the overall experience, the cuisine is showcased in beautiful, traditional Japanese pottery while sake is served in a distinctly beautiful line of handmade pewter cups and pitchers from Seikado, the only pewter art craft specialty shop in Japan, as well as handcrafted cypress cups.

Omakase is the fourth restaurant from business partners Chef Jackson Yu and Kash Feng, who also own two locations of Live Sushi in San Francisco, as well as Okane, located next door to Omakase.
