Whether you’re looking to be informed on the daily happenings of the world or just looking for a good laugh, we listen to it all. Check out some of our team’s favorite podcasts.

Adrienne

The Daily The Daily offers compelling, in-depth coverage of a current news story every morning, featuring interviews with New York Times reporters. I come away from each show better informed and with a more nuanced perspective on headline news.

Code Switch – a fascinating and enlightening podcast from NPR about race and identity.

The Gist – Mike Pesca hosts this quick-witted, fast-talking, opinionated political podcast from Slate. Each episode features an author interview. Sometimes, it can be laugh-out-loud funny.

Hidden BrainHosted by NPR social science correspondent and person-I’d-most-like-to-invite-to-my-house-for-dinner, Shankar Vedantam, Hidden Brain is a riveting exploration of our hidden motivations and unconscious patterns that shape our behavior.

Jane

Oprah’s Super Soul Conversation – Oprah’s my idol and I enjoy listening to her conversations with different people about their life journey. Each episode is uplifting and a great way to start the week!

Diana

Pod Save America – created by Jon Favreau, Dan Pfeiffer, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor, four former aides to President Obama, in response to the election of Donald Trump. It’s a cathartic way to laugh (and cry) through the craziness of it all, with expert and often entertaining insights into politics, the press and everything our country and the world is currently experiencing.

99% Invisible – produced in Oakland and hosted by Roman Mars, 99% Invisible about the hidden design in everyday things, and I learn something very cool and interesting in every episode. My favorite one was an episode about the Ghost Army the U.S. created in WWII.
